Oregon had 77 active craft distillers as of August 2026, according to the 2026 Craft Spirits Data Project from the American Craft Spirits Association and Park Street. This is a dated industry count, rather than a live total of every distillery licence or tasting room.
What does the count include?
The study counts licensed spirits producers that meet its craft criteria. These include a limit of 750,000 proof gallons removed from bond, restrictions on ownership by larger producers, craft marketing and ethics requirements. See the report's definition on page 6.
Its method excludes inactive and non-craft operations and removes duplicate entries or multiple locations of a supplier. Oregon's figure appears on the state map on page 10.
Why do other totals differ?
- Producer count: businesses meeting a study's definition.
- Licence count: legal authorisations, which need not equal active producers.
- Guild membership: members of an organisation.
- Tasting-room count: places to visit; one producer can have several.
Compare the date and definition before comparing two figures. The report does not establish that every counted producer accepts visitors today.
